Who We Are

A trusted voice in women’s rugby, supported by key advocates and leaders across women’s sport.

Level was founded by broadcaster and rugby journalist Nick Heath in the wake of records breaking for match attendances and as viewing figures of women’s club and international rugby began to soar.

“For women’s rugby to reach its potential, we have to tell the stories of those involved in the game – from the newest, inspiring, young international recruit to the veteran club player still shining in their golden years. The investment and development of the game is the bedrock. We must match this by bringing the stories of the athletes closer to the fans, so that audiences engage, support and follow the game closer than ever before.”

Advisory Board

Level is a collaborative organisation, working with the best journalists, editors, videographers, producers and creators to help find and tell the stories in women’s rugby that resonate and entertain.

An advisory board of specialists, with experience across women’s rugby and broader women’s sport, supports Level’s work.

Nick Heath

Nick Heath has women’s rugby in his blood. His cousin Emily was a club stalwart at Henley Hawks RFC while sister Siobhan started the women’s rugby team at Sussex University in 1987.

Nick has commentated on several Rugby World Cups, including the latest record-breaking RWC2021 in New Zealand, broadcast live on ITV. He has been the lead voice on the women’s Premier 15s league since its inception, broadcasting on BBC and online and has called the most women’s international and club games in the last decade of any commentator worldwide.

Nick is a co-founder of a non-profit organisation, ‘Pride In Touch’ which exists to improve LGBTQ+ participation in team sport, namely touch rugby. His work to improve the environment for minorities in sport highlights the key aspect of his personality that drove him to conceive Level as a business.

“If the athletes are giving it their all, then it’s on us to do what we can to help the sport get to the Level at which it deserves to be.”
